Great Tips to Retain Your Top Talent
Traditionally, talent companies compete for having the best talents in the flock. Professional actors and sports pros know well that they can be agents of themselves. Most of them would go after a great package, and not just a whopping talent fee. In the cut-throat competition, there are ways to keep your top talents in your fold, not too eager to jump off into greener pastures on the other side of the fence.
First is by giving them the best team support. It is inherent in man’s nature to want being in the league of the greats. Remember that top talents always want to be with other top talents because it will make them strive to become better in their field. So if you want to keep your best talent in the flock, you shouldn’t stop looking for more of them.
Second, the best talents want to feel that they are treated well in the company. This makes them feel that they are valued. That is why Google gives free car wash and oil change in the parking lot every day. There are also top talent organizations that provide free use of facilities during work hours.
Third, keep it hot. You have to make their job so exciting they can barely think of leaving. Yes, motivation is necessary but when it comes to excitement, you have to do better than that. Give them something new: a new client, a new topic, a new work environment, if necessary. When the manager slackens, the first thing a talent wants to do is jump into the next boat that comes around.
Fourth, keep them learning and challenge them to do some things that are different from what they are doing. Let them solve problems. This will keep them revved up for good. They should be able to give suggestions and attempts to help solve concerns. That way you keep their minds working and their energy alive.
